Camera QC Tools are a set of POSPac software tools developed by Applanix to achieve the highest level of georeferencing accuracy with image data. Camera QC Tools support boresight calibration between the IMU and the Camera. Boresight angles are also known as misalignment angles. Calibrating the misalignment is essential for accurate direct georeferencing results. Camera QC provides all functions, features and reports to run precise boresight estimation. Once calibrated, proper direct georeferencing exterior orientation parameters can be exported from POSPac to be used in photogrammetric software for further image processing (e.g. Orthophoto, DTM/DSM, 3D Modelling etc….). Beside that, Camera QC can also estimate the parameter of the camera interior orientation (e.g. PPA, Focal length).
In addition, Camera QC can be used as a Quality Control tool. In order to check the ground accuracy a subset of the image block can be loaded along with a few Ground Control Points (GCPs) or Check Points (CPs). Camera QC would return the RMS values and a detailed quality report which can be used for internal and external purposes. As a side product, it would validate the former calibrated boresight angles “on-the-job”.
