SUMMARY:

The successful candidate will provide technical support and assistance to sales personnel and customers through the selling cycle, perform product installation and customization, and provide after sale support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides advice and consultation to customers, internal sales reps and product managers on applications, product performance and installation critical topics
  • Assists in proposal preparation by providing input and clarification for technical details
  • Participates in the technical training of staff and clients in use of company products
  • Undertakes product installation and complex customization, collaborating with engineering staff and clients
  • Responds to customer enquiries and assists in resolving complex problems during installation phases of project
  • Participates in product technical reviews, impact assessments of new releases and reviews of competitive activity, and recommends product enhancements to engineering and sales staff
  • Prepares documentation regarding modifications, troubleshooting procedures and problem resolutions
  • Undertakes troubleshooting, at customer site, as required for complex problems
  • Undertakes maintenance, preparation and basic repair of Applanix hardware products as required
  • Provides technical guidance and direction to less experienced staff
  • Follows and ensures compliance to workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years’ experience in technical support or customer service
  • Knowledge of GPS/IMU technology
  • Working knowledge of Mapping and Surveying Industry
  • Ability to present technical information in understandable form for non-technical recipients
  • Working knowledge of the company’s products
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to manage stressful situations
  • Extensive travel may be required
  • Requirement to be available and respond to off-duty calls on a 24/7 basis

Sales Manager - UAV Market Segment Sales May 8,2017

SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager for the UAV Market Segment is responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing all sales activity and strategies for the Applanix UAV Product Portfolio to the UAV platform and sensor payload manufacturers in the region defined as Americas, Asia/Pacific, Africa and Middle East.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates with the Director of Sales and Business Director in establishing and recommending the most realistic sales goals for the company in the region defined. Participates in the development of the Applanix UAV market segment sales plans.   Applanix Regional Trade Area revenue goals and targets for UAV products are managed and aligned with Applanix’s long range strategic corporate business plan.
  • Establishes regional sales strategies for UAV Products through the strategic development of Regional Channel Partners. These strategies are expected to remain in line with the regional business plans and determine the objectives for product distribution, how new customers and business will be developed, identifies channel partners and provides insights to new product developments.
  • Educates existing reseller channels by establishing programs/seminars in the areas of new account sales and growth, sales of emerging products and multi-product sales, profitability, improved presentation strategies and competitive strategies.
  • Manages existing Channel Partners by holding them accountable to their business plans and regional forecasts.  Makes recommendations on Channel Partner strategies with a focus on increasing sales.
  • Represents the Applanix/Trimble organization in external business relationships with channel partners, distribution and customers so that the strategic messaging is communicated clearly. 
  • This position is accountable for Regional Sales targets defined in the annual sales forecast to the Applanix Sales Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 5 years  sales management experience preferably in the Geospatial Industry
  • Strong account management and relationship building skills
  • Extensive (5+ Year) Experience with growing and managing a Channel Partner network
  • Degree in Business
  • Expectation of 40% + Travel Worldwide

Reporting to the Development Manager, your primary role will be to lead systems engineering activities related to APX products for UAV and OEM markets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take part in product design and development including direct involvement in at least two of the following areas: embedded software design and development, electronics & mechanical design, navigation algorithm development, and hardware/software integration,
