Applanix Showcases Land-based Mobile Mapping and Unmanned Airborne Photogrammetry Solutions at Intergeo 2013
Essen, Germany, October 8, 2013 - Applanix, a world leader in products and solutions for mobile mapping and positioning, is showcasing a number of products and solutions from partners at Intergeo 2013, the leading international conference for geodesy, geo-information and land management.
Initially announced in August 2013, Applanix will be showcasing the Trimble® AP15, a new member of the AP series of OEM GNSS-Inertial board sets, which is available from Applanix. Reaching a new level of price performance capability, the AP15 uses a custom Micro Electromechanical Machined (MEMS) based Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). It is the first product to take advantage of Applanix' proprietary calibration process—Applanix SmartCal™ software, incorporating a new compensation technology that allows Trimble to achieve exceptional performance from IMUs manufactured specifically for mobile mapping applications.
Partnering with manufacturers of unmanned aerial vehicles and cameras, Applanix has developed a version of the Trimble Digital Sensor System (DSS) aerial mapping camera, which uses the AP15 board set. Specifically designed for deployment on unmanned platforms, the DSS is designed as a high-productivity, mapping-grade solution for color orthophoto and vertical mapping applications.
Applanix products and solutions can be seen in the Applanix section of Trimble's booth (Hall 3, D3 120), and at the booths of partner companies, including Somag (Hall 3: D3 031), Microdrones (Hall 3: A3 128), and Faro (Hall 3: B3 005 and FG140).
