POS LS is a portable system designed for all-terrain, land-based seismic surveying, and tactical, emergency response man-portable positioning. It provides reliable positioning data in areas where the use of conventional survey and GPS instrumentation would be hampered. Engineered for the most challenging conditions, POS LS is ergonomically designed with a hard-shell backpack and user-friendly Windows CE hand held display and command interface.

POS LS enables the user to confidently undertake seismic surveys in areas where GPS reception is intermittent. The system combines a survey-grade inertial measurement unit with RTK GPS to provide continuous, high-accuracy positioning information.

POS LS monitors the quality of its position data, requesting Zero Velocity Updates (ZUPTS) to limit error propagation.

When GPS is unavailable, POS LS allows the operator to use manual Position Updates from ground survey control points, providing reliable positioning data under all conditions.
