Summary
The European Regional Sales Manager for Land Products will be responsible for creating and executing a plan for the sale of products and solutions that are developed by Applanix for “Mobile Mapping and Positioning” to professional markets. This plan will include detailed forecasting information, and will monitor and report on all competitive activities within his/her territory. Administers, coordinates, and implements all sales and marketing activities of the Applanix Land Products in a predetermined European territory in order to meet; with incentive to exceed, defined sales targets. Sales efforts will be managed directly or indirectly by recommending and managing a network of agents. Maintains and develops excellent customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the territory for land products and solutions by identifying new customers, establish new sales channels through Sales Agencies, Distributors and OEM Customers resulting in the achievement of maximum sales within the territory.
  • Develop and maintain excellent product knowledge in order to provide excellent support in Sales and Marketing Activities of Agencies, Distributor and OEM Customers.
  • Prepare and participate in Exhibits and Conferences, special customer meetings such as User Meetings etc.
  • Organize System demonstrations with customers and agencies.
  • Develop strong sales activities/opportunities with private companies, corporations, Government Institutions, and Military and Defense Organizations
  • Maximize the capabilities of Saleslogix CRM system for all Sales Activities within the territory.
  • Develop Sales Forecasts on an annual, quarterly and monthly basis.
  • Monitor Competitors Activities and develop strategies to maintain leading market position on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend product enhancements, price changes as they are required to meet customer/market demands.
  • Put special emphasis on developing unexplored market opportunities by coordinating with the land product manager on new market verticals for land products
  • Explore possible special funding opportunities.
  • Maintain close liaisons with the following inside groups/personal:
    • Inside sales team to assure efficient and timely response to customers and agencies and adapt efficient administrative procedures
    • Customer Support Group for technical and service support
    • Director of Land Business applications and his team
    • Marketing Group for support in marketing oriented events

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Geomatics related discipline such as Geography, Surveying, Survey Engineering or Remote Sensing.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in successful selling and marketing of products to the Mapping and Survey Industry
  • Experience in the Solution Selling of technology products with a proven sales record.
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communicate skills with customers both orally and in written form.
  • Be able to work independently within a given territory.
  • Be able to function well within a team environment; strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills
  • High degree of initiative; result oriented
  • Be able to successfully deal with private companies and Government organizations
  • Able to travel extensively (approximately 30 - 40% of the time)
