Applanix Introduces the POS AV 610 for High Precision Remote Sensing Applications

RICHMOND HILL, ONTARIO - Applanix announced today the launch of its POS AV 610 (Position and Orientation System - Airborne Vehicles), designed for direct georeferencing of airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and high-altitude Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) sensors. The system is used for strategic surveillance and commercial remote sensing applications.

The Applanix POS AV 610 integrates precision survey-grade Global Positioning System (GPS) with high-end inertial technology to produce detailed, real-time and post-processed complex terrain data for topographic imaging and digital surface models. The system was specifically designed for the Geospatial community and a variety of tasks such as visual spatial analysis, environmental monitoring, glacier flow mapping, and three-dimensional city modeling.
