Applanix announces POS AV updates

RICHMOND HILL, CANADA—Applanix announces three updates to the industry standard POS AV (Position and Orientation System for Airborne Vehicles). These changes help to ensure POS AV’s tight integration with airborne camera systems.

1. Z/I Imaging T-AS gyro-stabilized suspension mount interface- provides Yaw Drift control to the mount, using the POS AV real-time navigation solution to automatically steer the mount to follow a desired heading or the mean track angle. The interface can be through either the T-CU Control Unit, the control unit for the RMK TOP camera, or via a Z/I Imaging interface box. The interface box is available for mounts that support other types of sensors, such as Z/I Imaging's RMK A cameras or third-party devices. www.ziimaging.com

2. LH Systems PAV30 gyro-stabilized camera mount interface- uses POS AV real-time navigation solution as input for PAV30 attitude control to provide improved vertical stabilization and Yaw/Drift control of camera mount. Further, this interface allows POS AV to receive Gimbal data from the PAV30 to ensure more precise positioning. The interface requires PAV30 PosOp from LH Systems. 3. Track’air Flight Management System interface- allows Track’air users to control and monitor POS AV directly from the Track’air interface. This eliminates the need for a second laptop and allows for detailed fault detection. www.trackair.com
