Seisland Surveys purchases two Applanix POS LS units
RICHMOND HILL, CANADA - Applanix Corporation is pleased to announce that Calgary, Canada-based Seisland Surveys Ltd. (www.seisland.com) has recently purchased two of the company's POS LS inertial survey backpacks for use in seismic survey operations. The sale was facilitated by Calgary-based Spatial Technologies, Applanix's exclusive POS LS agent in Canada.
Said Garvin Geck, President of Seisland, "Our first experience with Applanix's POS LS product was when we rented a few units for use on one of our major survey contracts last year. Both our client and our survey teams were extremely pleased with the product's capabilities, as Applanix's innovative seismic survey technology proved both more efficient and more cost-effective by reducing the environmental impact on seismic programs in forested areas. Following this experience, we decided to purchase this technology and add to our existing surveying capabilities."
Applanix's POS LS backpack-portable inertial survey backpack provides an innovative new approach to surveying. Thanks to the product's high-quality inertial sensor, the system can provide precise positioning in areas inaccessible to GPS or optical instruments, such as under tree canopy, in buildings or even underground.
