November 1, 2001 Applanix POS AV used for World Trade Center Wreckage Survey
RICHMOND HILL, CANADA - Applanix's POS AV (Position and Orientation System for Airborne Vehicles) is at the heart of a number of LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and aerial camera systems used for aerial surveys of the World Trade Center wreckage. The survey data is being used to coordinate the recovery and clean up efforts.
